Texas 4000 Bicyclist
On June 20 we hosted "Texas 4000 Bicyclist" who are a community of cancer fighters. Their riders, all University of Texas students, are the passionate young people at the heart of the organization. They train, fundraise, educate, and bring hope to those with cancer.

The bicyclist began their journey in Cedar Park, Texas and will end in Anchorage Alaska on August 13.

Thank you to everyone who provided showers and helped prepare meals for our bicyclists. If you would like to learn more about Texas 4000 you can visit their website at www.Texas4000.org.

FCCUCC Young Adults Help Change the World

On February 6, Hannah Lusk (with the help of her sister Rachael) gave a short presentation about her upcoming work in an orphanage in Africa.  She displayed some photographs taken by Rachael, and described what she will be doing on her trip.  Below is a sample of the presentation. At the end, they both were able to answer questions... donations of cash and/or "onesies" for the babies in the orphanage were collected during the month of February.

Bike and Build
On August 11, FCC welcomed 32 college students from the "Bike and Build" organization. They peddled from Boston to Santa Barbara. Their journey was to bring  awareness and raise funds for poverty housing. It was a great pleasure having these young people stay with us and share their stories.

After a restful night and a pancake breakfast the bicyclist load their vans and trailers and prepare their bicycles to get back on the road. Thanks to all FCC folks who took such good care of these cyclists!
